When researcher Metin Eren needed a digital process to measure the circumference of rocks, he came to Think. Using off-the-shelf tools from Adobe Systems, Inc., we helped develop a unique procedure that allowed Eren and his associates to measure the exact circumference of thousands of stone tools, which far exceeded the accuracy of the "technology" previously used by archaeologists: silly putty. This new procedure is documented in detail on this web site. Think is also hosting the experimental data sets.
The resulting paper by Eren et al. will be available on the Journal of Human Evolution web site as early as August 27, 2008. The authors have only received the proofs August 26, 2008.
